Annual Convention and Auction

Each year between mid-April and early May, the Club holds a four-day Annual Convention. This entertaining and informative event moves around the country each year providing members an opportunity to see collections throughout the nation.

Activities. In conventions past we have seen hands-on decorating by china painters, heard presentations on the history of Pickard and other Chicago studios, learned about the life and work of artists and their descendents, and learned porcelain painting techniques, insurance and other helpful information.

Tours. Often included are chartered bus tours of the host city, visits to historic sites, and in-home exhibitions of private collections.

Auction and Sale. The Annual Banquet and Auction is always a highlight and a rare opportunity to see a wide range of china available for appreciation or purchase. Another convention event is the Sunday Sale by dealers and individuals, an opportunity to take home that treasure you have long been searching for. Most importantly, you will take home the friendships made with those who share your passion for all things Pickard.

Cleveland, OH — April 26-29, 2018!

The classic Renaissance Cleveland Hotel in central Cleveland, Ohio, is our Convention headquarters and the location of most of our convention activities: receptions, exhibits, sessions, auction, and banquet, with other special events. The club contracted rate will begin three days before the convention and extend for three days afterward.

Special events will include at least the following:

  • Tour the Sieberling Mansion in Akron
  • Museum of American Porcelain Art in South Euclid (private collection)
